I started this book thinking, "It has to get better." Sadly, it didn't. Ara stays just as annoying in the second book as she was in the first book. I thought it was bad enough all the back and forth between Mike and David, the second book throws a third love interest into the mix. Really, she couldn't even make up her mind in the first place?!? Why? The third love interest is really weird and I just don't get it. I hate all the "I'm really a good person, I just beat you to get back at my brother." Then later to torture her again. Seriously! I don't think I can continue on with this series. It is too much back and forth with a main character that is so hard to like! Part of me wants to see if she will finally come to her senses, but based on the reviews of the next book it only gets worse. No thanks! Ok ... so this one was definitely better than Dark Secrets.The ending (no spoilers) DID make me cry, and i felt in credibly sad...But i had a real difficult time with the book...it took me DAYS to finish it, when i usually read one this size in a day or less. I actually, at one point, walked away, with intentions of never finishing it.Ara is still back and forth. But to me, it got worse. Mike? David? Eric? Jason? There are points in this book that she has 'love' feelings for all the men, and that makes her more upset...which in turn, makes her more back and forth.I believe that Hudson has a way with words, about painting a picture - i knew every detail about everything...i guess...i just maybe didn't want to. I skipped over several paragraphs, until i got to the last quarter of the book. The last quarter was REALLY good and i read it word for word - not wanting to miss anything.I'm glad the author left it open for the next in the series...but also closed it out, so if you don't want to go on...you don't have to.
