About book The Great And Terrible, Volume 6: Clear As The Moon (2008)

I really enjoyed this series of books for many reasons. The author's description of the nuclear attacks was compelling and the aftermath of the EMP was very thought provoking. Makes me want to get a VERY generous supply of iodine tablets to purify water if needed. The interaction between the forces on either side of the veil of mortality was well done. The series didn't finish with the end of the world but it was close to the edge. Reminds me of what I used to tell friends: "I grew up in Mud Lake, Idaho. It's not the end of the world.....but you CAN see it from there." Seems the author left himself options for a sequel? This is a fantastic series. I started reading Wrath and Righteousness, then learned that Wrath and Righteousness was based on The Great and Terrible Series. This series is geared to an LDS audience, whereas Wrath and Righteousness is more non-demoninational. So instead of waiting 6 weeks between new installments (Wrath and Righteousness is only available for download), I checked out The Great and Terrible at the library and just finished it. The first book in the series, The Brothers is a little odd. I know some people stopped reading after the first one. Wrath and Righteousness mostly skips the entire first book, so I knew what was coming and didn't get deterred by The Brothers. My recommendation is to either read the Wrath and Righteousness series, or The Great and Terrible if you are LDS, just do not stop at the first book, it becomes quite the page turner. I found myself very vested in each of the characters he brings to life. Great series, highly recommend.

Do You like book The Great And Terrible, Volume 6: Clear As The Moon (2008)?

This is the sixth and final book in the series, Great and Terrible. I recommend this series as it is a good story and a real page turner. I rate it 3 stars because the writer leaves to the last book to let the reader know that his point is to advacate the Mormon faith. Don't know why he chose to hold that fact till the last book as it seems he was not quite honest with his readers. Otherwise, I enjoyed the series very much. The story is semi SiFi, as it takes place in the first book before the world began, then the second book picks up, and continues through book six with a story of a world war perpitrated by Satan and his angels through the people he is able to twist to his will. Chris Stewart weaves the story very well with believable characters and situations that the reader can easily recognize.

This is my review for the entire series. It was a fantastic thriller. I enjoyed the fact that it displayed strong active members of my church, but not in the usual Mormon fiction style, something I greatly appreciated. The main thing I brought away from this book was to prepare, like natural disaster type preparedness. The disaster that unfolds in this series was too real and has kept me awake at night thinking about what I need to do for my family's sake.
