This book was Terrible - Do not bother to even pick up to try it. I have loved the author thru the years...very surprised, how much I disliked. The premise, the writing everything bad. The characters had mean persona's...just very odd that Siddons wrote this...huge disappointment - oh, and I did not even get halfway in it, but enough to hate it at beginning, kept trying, and just kept getting worse. I really liked this book. In the past four friends rented a beachfront home for two weeks every August. Since one of them died, they have not been meeting but are trying again this year because the widower of their deceased friend has married again to "Baby" which seems like rather an apt name as she is considerably younger than the rest. Baby owns a large house on an island and the girls have decided to have their beach holiday there. I liked the emotion, laughter and tears of the the new girls of August.
