This book will draw you in and make you feel every emotion to its fullest. It wasn't one of those predictable plots. It was a story of life and hurt and how you come out on the other side. If you really want to FEEL then take the time and read this book! WARNING: be prepared to read through unstoppable tears as the Kleenex couldn't wipe them away fast enough. However you can't stop it's just that good. This book beautiful, heartbreak, devastating, and wonderful all rolled into one. I laughed and cried (a lot). The beginning of the book was very difficult for me because of what happens to Beth; thankfully some justice does come her way. Maggi does a beautiful way in writing that experience throughout the book, the innocence, the anger, the confusion....you as the reader feel like you are experiencing that journey right along with Beth and I thought that was pretty magical. You are introduced to some amazing characters aside from Beth like Ryan and Tommy that you can't help but fall totally in love with. Tommy was Beth's savior, her protector and just everything. I instantly love him and their relationship. He is like the Big brother, Dad, best friend, cool uncle, everything all rolled into one. I think that everyone needs a Tommy in their life and especially in their corner. He was what she need, especially in the beginning when she was hurting so much. The love and acceptance was unconditional. Ryan was the boy that Beth fell in love with when she was 15. There was innocence to their young love in that summer. But it was real and lasting. Events shortened their summer and it would be ten years and a tragic event that brings these two back together. Will they be able to be together or will Beth and Ryan be able to give love a chance. I just loved everything about this story. While it was a really emotional read I was not able to put it down, I stayed up all night reading it and I loved it. It was beautiful!!
