thrown out of the ss for insubordination, gord brown is ow on a remote salmon farm in scotland. h/e evrything changes when he is approached by 3 guatemalan indians whop r desperately seeking for s fighting man (hence the title) someone to mastermind an uprising against the brutal military dictatorship who have massacred so many of their people. gord now has a purpose they land in ciba and fly across into the jungles of guatemala where they rapidly assemble a guerilla army (untrained!) but as they approach the capital city the govt becomes increasingly threatened by their presence and is determined to annihilate them at ll costs to be honest i found this to be too long drawn out (500 pages of small print paperback) and could not really get into it perhaps it is more an older man's thing? bev
