Wesley King did a great job blurring the line between heroes and villains, and illustrating the point that what makes the eponymous Feros the heroes they become, is simply innocence.As the Vindico have had their limelight in the first book, only a select few played important roles; instead much emphasis is placed on the new young heroes, and the history of the League of Heroes is also duly explained. Every character has a rightful amount of importance, which contributed to the teamwork dynamics of the Feros.With the right amount of action, humour, and even tragedy, I must say this is one of the rare few titles I would love to watch an adapted (animated please!) movie of. Wesley King has done it again.Our quintet of heroes introduced in "The Vindico" are back in King's follow-up YA novel, "The Feros".And the first lesson our group of teen would-be heroes learns is that crime-fighting isn't always easy, even if you do have super-powers.Having beaten their former teachers, the Vindico, our heroes are eagerly awaiting induction into the League.But all is not well.Questions of belonging, self-doubt, guilt, and fear soon begin to surface in our teen quintet, as a new and more dangerous threat begins to make its presence known.Soon, the League is in shambles, and the Vindico have been freed from prison.To make matters worse, one member of our teens has been kidnapped, and other League members have begun to disappear.Betrayal looms around every corner, and soon, our five teens are left wondering who they can really trust.Who is behind all this?And why?And will our teens--now dubbed 'The Feros'--survive to find out?Riddled with equal amounts of action and humour, "The Feros" proves that Wesley King is not just a one-trick-pony.
