This was a FREE DOWNLOAD, a touching and heartwarming story between Jesse and Devin. Jesse has a brother, Sam that is Mom gave up for adoption. They are all about to meet Sam for the first time at Christmas. It was about family and how some are not what they appear on the outside. It's about loving each person for who they are and not judging them. The relationship between Sam and his half brother Clint/Rick, from his adoptive family, was brought up with Sam coming to his rescue. I hope that they show and develop more of that in the next book. This was a beautifully written story about family and forgiveness and friendship between them. Anyone who has a mixed family will truly understand and love this book and series. Despite this being the opposite of what I like, I still loved this book.Usually what I'm looking for in a book is something big and meaty with a lot of story. This was a just a sliver of a novel. I am a SUCKER for sexual tension and this was about a couple so established that it wasn't even ABOUT their relationship. UST? Their relationship was so rock solid that it wasn't even questioned. So right away, it seems like a book I wouldn't normally have even picked up. Except I really enjoy Kaje Harper's longer works and I thought, well, free read, what the heck! And I'm so glad I did. This isn't really an m/m book - like the title says, it's a family book. But it's sweet and hard and loving and completely emotionally fulfilling.
