You could tell that this author has a fascination for fairytales. When I first begun to read i would only read fairtales, tall tales etc etc etc. As longs as it had a happy ending I would read them. But this was to much fairytailing (made up word). I still love happy endings, but not this book. This historical book didn't read like most of the historical romances I have read, which was very disappointing. You could tell the person wasn't knowledgeable enough, about that time period. Saving grace of the book was the Duke mother secret, it was a WOW suprise, didn't see it coming. I've gotten used to skipping over detail sex scenes, but there wasn't any or maybe I skipped over them. The mother's secret and how the book ended, was good, so I give it 2 stars. I enjoyed this fast-read novel. The storyline was very easy to follow and made for a nice, light read and takes place in Victorian era England. Miranda is the oldest daughter in her family and she find herself very quickly being married to the Duke of Kerstone after they are caught together by a young child. She was told that the Duke has a terminal illness and will die in six months so she tries everything to make him better, after which discovering he is in fact not ill. The story follows many family secrets which Miranda learns about which, in the long run will help the Duke and herself stay together.
