Rocco had lived in Afghanistan for many years where he was on an extremely difficult uncover assignment. When he returned to the States he was suffering from a severe case of PTSD. His friend, Kit, asked Rocco to help his sister Mandy around her property where she’s in the process of constructing a rehabilitation centre with horses. A lot of strange things are happening on Mandy's property and Kit wants Rocco to try to figure out what is going on and keep Mandy safe. This was a well written, descriptive book but I thought the descriptions in this one went on too long so that I skimmed a lot of it. I felt sorry for Rocco with his extremely traumatic PTSD. I liked the way Mandy understood his issues and was able to talk to him calmly, bringing him back to reality. Mandy was not afraid of Rocco and was a big help in stabilizing him. It was good to see Rocco ease up on himself and to see the attraction form between these two.Generally, I enjoyed The Edge Of Courage but there were a couple of things in the last few chapters of this book that I didn't like which left me not loving this story. Really enjoyed this very dramatic more romance thriller. Loved Rocco and Mandy, poor Rocco what he went through!, his PTSD is heartbreaking at times to read had me misty a few times I can tell you, but Mandy with her kindness and patience saves him, loads of drama a few twists I didn't see coming, great introduction to the other members of Red team, there a mixed bunch which will make for interesting stories, I'm so happy Kit and Ty's stories are already available, the story doesn't end on a cliffhanger as such but a continuation of the "bigger story". Definitely worth a go.
