First, from looking at the cover, I didn't know that this book was part of a series. I would have liked to read the previous books, but the author does a good job of catching you up on the previous books so you don' t feel lost the entire time. This book felt less of a Forensic mystery and more like criminal mystery with a love story. It is a thriller and I think my middle school students will really like it. The Dying Breath (Forensic Mysteries,#4) - Alana FergusonCameryn Mahoney is a young protégé medical assistant who is barely out of high school. She's been asked to work on two high profile cases that may have a link to the first victim that was found dead in his home. How does this all tie in to Cameryn? Cameryn's ex boyfriend is the psychopath killer. Will Cameryn find what has caused these deaths? Will the killer be found before he finds Cameryn? It was refreshing to read a young adult novel that centered around forensics. I find that to be an interesting science trying to piece together the clues as to how the dead have died.
