About book The Drunken Botanist By Amy Stewart (Mar 19 2013) (2000)
I am happy to have this on my bookshelf and will refer to it many times, I'm sure. It was so fun to read about all the plants and to learn how they get turned into alcoholic beverages. This book was full of historical facts, not just plant information. Plus it has recipes for cocktails, how fun! I like the design of the book, too, kind of old-timey looking. This is a very fun book to read if you like plants, history, and how things are made - even if you don't drink alcoholical beverages. For years, I was uninterested in plants and couldn't recognize things growing in my neighborhood. And while I'm still not too good at remembering names of flowers of herbs, I've become quite curious about it. Amy Stewart's book matched my latest interest: it was informative, witty, drawing from many different sources and providing recipes I really, really want to try. It would be best to keep a copy of this book in the kitchen, or alcohol cupboard, or minibar, if you happen to have one.

Interesting read. More of a coffee table book than a read straight through.

It was dryer than I expected. I would like to read it eventually...maybe.
