Ok, here's the thing where I am probably wrong. Personally, I don't find submission or humiliation appealing. But when you are into submission, you don't see it as humiliation. But because I am not (I don't even like to read about it) I don't get the attraction. The story in itself is just that a story. Not very believable. I will read the second book now to see how I feel. D&S is an interesting world, though. I would love to find a MM romance where the whole story is close to reality. This witty, fun short centres around hapless Liam, whose quick temper gets him into a heap of trouble. His boyfriend dumps him and Liam loses it, pours a bottle of champagne over his boyfriend's head and makes a load of rash accusations. Unfortunately for Liam his boyfriend is a cousin of the Delaney's, twin brothers who are local mobsters and they don't take kindly to anyone messing with their family. The next day the Delaney brothers appear at Liam's door with a gun and give him a choice: Have his balls shot off, or have sex with them. There's a lot in the story about forced submission. Liam has to kneel at the feet of the brothers and be fed by them, he also is forced at gunpoint to accompany them. However, I liked that Liam still had spirit, despite being humiliated. The way that he attempts to get the upper hand by initiating sexual play was very amusing, as was his surprise at how much he enjoyed being used by the brothers. There's no deep themes or angst to the story, just a light humourous tale with a touch of twincest which I enjoyed a great deal.
Do You like book The Delaneys And Me (2010)?
This was short and fun and just pure escapism.
