It was nice to see Tomas again, Cassie wasn't in this one, but that is a nice twist on the normal for the regular part of the series. It was interesting meeting Sarah Lee, and as she says "no I don't bake", but she seems to know how to stand the heat when things get hot in this tale.this sure did end up being a very unique Día de los Muertos for Tomas, Sarah and a lot of others in the jungles of Mexico. Another solid story. I think I was influenced to like this one because I'm a fan of the writer's Cassie Palmer series though. I already liked Tomas and hated Alejandro. I'm not as sure about how the story would stand up for readers who aren't familiar with the series, but I think that they'd like it. It isn't that it has a lot of obscure references, it was just a little bit more typical thank some of her other stories. But, like several others, it is available for free on her website and at smashwords.

2.50 stars. Not that enjoyable of a read. Enjoyed other short stories by Karen Chance.
