He finally breaks free and focuses on his revenge. It becomes his sole mission. He learns that Lucifer has a mortal wife and decides to use her for his revenge.He breaks into the palace and kidnaps the only mortal female he sees. Of course she isn’t who he believes she is. Amara is the foster daughter of Lucifer’s wife Kali. She refuses to enlighten her captor of her true identity in order to protect Kali.She endures his attitude and arrogance. She refuses to be cowed by him and constantly tells him what she thinks. She exasperates him at every turn. She even escapes twice, but he always finds her and brings her back.As a result his feelings start to change. Amara is no longer a weak mortal in his eyes. He wants her as his companion. Unfortunately for her, he figures out who she is not. Her failure is huge and her guilt blinding. She fears the consequences of what she has done.I like the story line of this series and how Amara meets Noctis. It was funny to read about how they drove each other crazy. He truly wanted to strangle her at times. I knew his feelings would change. The story was predictable enough. However the ending left an excellent cliffhanger. The next book will have a great place to pick up where this one left off.However the beginning of the story seemed a bit choppy in the writing style. As the story moved along it seemed to flow more smoothly like the author grew more comfortable as the story evolved. I give it a 3 out of 5. 3.5 Stars!A nice read. More of and "I liked it" than an "I really liked it". The humor was great (gotta love a sarcastic leading lady). As much as I love stories with the lead charactering sacrificing him/herself, this story didn't completely capture my love for it. I did really enjoy it, but I probably would've loved it if there was more development between Noctis (Summit) and Amara. It also seemed disconcerting adding other developing relationships like Nala and Trent's when I was expecting the book to focus on Amara and Noctis. It seemed weird that the ending (the one before the epilogue) ended with Nala's situation, but I liked how the epilogue ended.While I didn't love the book, I am interested in continuing the series. I recommend the book for those who enjoy paranormal romances with some comedy thrown in.

Story was a little all over the place but overall I enjoyed it and it was a quick and easy read.
