About book The Darcys & The Bingleys: A Tale Of Two Gentlemen's Marriages To Two Most Devoted Sisters (2008)
Slow to develop a plot...halfway through the book before anything happened except everyone getting married and producing children. There was a fair amount of anachronistic language...they did not use the phrase "laid back" in the 18th century, I am pretty sure. Also, while the cover promised a little spice, there was none. At. All. The naughtiest thing that happened were passionate kisses, and even those were not described. I read the whole book, but it was not engaging at all. The Kama Sutra thread promised on the cover did not materialize. It was barely mentioned. Also, Darcy's drinking problem was a weird and unnecessary addition. It did nothing to help develop a plot. It added nothing at all to the story. Of course, there WAS no story...so....Basically, this was boring. While the synopsis was intriguing, I found the book to be rather juvenile overall. The characters seemed to be awkward, pre-teen shades of their original counterparts, with little else in common besides their names. The story lines seemed superficial and jumpy with little development or intrigue. I awarded a second star for the occasional witty dialogue, but as I had to force myself to finish this book, I highly doubt that I'll move on to the {numerous} sequels by this author, especially as there are much better P&P sequels out their to be enjoyed.

This was a funny, enjoyable read. One of the best sequels of P&P that I have read!

tongue in cheek continuation of Pride & Prejudice. Scrappy at times.
