About book The Cranberry Hush (2011)

This book is lyrical in the sense that it lulls the reader across a lush landscape of beautifully wrought characters in language delicious to behold and to digest. It begins by allowing the reader to face the situation - a poignant and clever device to draw us into the book. It leaves the reader guessing throughout as to what could come next and never lets slip until the occurrence itself that which was coming. In this way, it imitates life almost flawlessly and is a pure joy to read, particularly because it is told from the perspective of someone who is described as having 'no boundaries, no limits; to be able to love whoever'. Character development is appropriately paced and renders a portrait that is meaninguful to behold. I get the sense that every time I re-read this heart-warming novel, I shall likely find gems of brilliance slotted into the nuanced implications of every thought, word and deed that effortlessly glides off the page and into the myriad pool of imagination. The book was a delight, and I heartily recommend it to anyone with a taste for seeking the realities of life today in literature. On a random snow way, Vince's college roommate, Griff, to whom he hasn't spoken in years, shows up on his doorstep looking for a place to crash. Vince's quiet life is quickly turned upside down as Griff takes him on a mini-adventure and he is forced to confront the circumstances that led to him walking out of Griff's life all those years ago.If I had to describe this in a word? Wonderful. It's one of those stories that gets you yelling at the characters in your head: "Wise up already!" And though it's not really a mystery, it was a couple unexpected twists that just seem to take everything to the right place for everyone involved. Definitely high up on my list of m/m romance recommendations.
