About book The Continuous Conversion: God Isn't Just Proving Us, He's Improving Us (2013)
In his first book, The Continuous Atonement, Wilcox reminds us that no matter how many times we mess up or make the same mistake over and over again the Atonement of Jesus Christ is always accessible to help us get back on the path. In this follow up book, The Continuous Conversion, Wilcox gives us many examples of little things in our lives that sometimes detract us from the overall big picture. Sometimes we simply let pride, jealousy, greed, out of place priorities, and feelings of inadequacies get in the way of knowing God and what his plan is for us. This book reminds us all that we can overcome those vices to find peace and happiness and that through the Holy Spirit we will know that every experience we have in this life is meant for our improvement and betterment, which will give us the ultimate desire to dwell forever with our Father in Heaven and His Son someday. I have heard Brad Wilcox speak many times in the last 15 years or so and am always amazed at his ability to teach with power and depth and understandability and go home filled with things to ponder. He is one of my favorite speakers, but I wondered if his speeches would translate well into writing as some fall flat. This book FAR exceeded my expectations. He definitely has a way with words that sifts out new meanings and reveals truth in a relatable way. Chapter 8 deepened my understanding of the temple endowment so forcefully that my hands were shaking and I almost cried with amazement before sharing it with my husband, re-reading it, and noting the references for further study. I want to share this book with so many people! I will definitely be reading "The Continuous Atonement" as well.
