About book The Compass Of Pleasure: How Our Brains Make Fatty Foods, Orgasm, Exercise, Marijuana, Generosity, Vodka, Learning, And Gambling Feel So Good (2011)

This was a pretty interesting book that will probably require some later review for best retention of some of the more detailed information contained inside, because it does get fairly technical.Still, there were some attention-grabbing gems that stood out, such as the information on addiction rates of various drugs. I will return to this book once I know a bit more about the inner workings of the brain. Interesting comparison of different types of addictions and how some are perceived as diseases and others as immoral. I found the scientific discussion about food addictions and leptin resistance very interesting. Will be doing further reading into this. The author did a good job of bringing in experiments to explain the scientific concepts but I lost in interest in the book towards the end.
