The central and perplexing question that may be posed by future historians is why we have so easily succumbed to "active denial." Why were we unable to act upon what we knew -- until it was far too late.An important cautionary tale based upon credible science. Not a great piece of literature, but a provocative little book well worth reading. Written from the point of view of a Chinese historian a few hundred years in the future. There is also a a Q. and A. at the end of the essay.I like the subject matter, agree with most of the opinion and generally admire this author for other things she has written but this is pretty bad. It is really a longish essay a polemic really but it just badly written and the structure is messy.These quick fire essays/short books are one of Kindles strengths but this is a poor example.
