About book The Charmed Return (2011)

Now that I have finally finished the series I can actually write my review. I guess we will start at the beginningAnita/Tania is a half faerie half mortal girl who has been trapped in London for 500 years. In the first book we find out with her that she has a dual soul and can travel between both worlds faerie and the mortal world through a sort of side step. She is the 7th daughter to King Oberon and Queen Titania. When Tania first steps into the faerie world she is confused because she has feelings of familiarity of this place but no memory of it. Through out the first book she has to come to terms that this "new" life is real and that she has powers none of her other princess sisters have and that in turn will help the whole of faerie. This series was a whirl wind of emotions for me. I loved it sometimes and hated it in others. I loved the world, the characters were well put together for me anyway but there was so many irritating moments. Mainly the pace I guess. It didn't feel fast enough at some parts and too fast at others. There was soo much detail in everything almost as it was written to be a movie. The reader could definitely see exactly what was going on and what Tania was seeing, but I would skip the fluff sometimes to get to the action. The first book sold me to this series and I read the rest with a sort of obligation to find out what happens in the end. People get killed off which made me sad. Evil lurks around every corner and Tania has to keep saving the day which gets kind of annoying. I think the most horrible thing ever is the ending of the series. Tania asks Edric to ask her again and so he does "Marry me" and she says yes, but what about the King? There was a bit of foreshadowing from her past selves that said "don't worry about Father he will give himself willingly". So does he die in exchange for the faeries immortality? How long must they wait for his return or non-return. Are we left to wonder forever is there a 7th book in the making ugh!!! What happens to her mortal parents does Jade find them are they alright? Does Tania get to see them again?? I love happy endings, but I don't really mind bad ending either just as long as there is an ending which I have not found in book 6 :( Anita/Tania is half mortal, half fairy princess. At this particular moment, however, all Anita knows is her mortal side, forgetting all the previous experiences she has had. When she realizes that she has lost about 9 weeks worth of memories, she goes searching for answers. When her mom tells her the truth of her heritage and what has been happening, she thinks her mom has gone completely crazy. Further details convince her of the truth – and the need for her to get back to the world of the fae as terrible things are happening there.A brief summary of the previous books at the beginning is welcome for those who have forgotten what has already transpired, or who jump into a series mid-way. It is not especially noteworthy in any way, good or bad, but a solid choice for someone who wants a fairy princess story.
