About book The Charm Bracelet - PREVIEW EDITION (2000)
This book was very sweet. The writing style somewhat reminded me of Maeve Binchy, using a story within a story method, which I love. I thought the plot was well thought out, and I really likes how the journey of the bracelet back to it's owner wasn't rushed. So often you read a book and think, "Gee, this might be a good book if the author would just slow down and not be in such a hurry to finish the story. "I liked the bits of backstory the author included and I liked the ending as well. After all, the book wasn't necessarily about the lead characters, it was about the bracelet, and the journey it has been through.I don't want to know od there was a happily ever after for the people, just what happenes to the bracelet in the endm I was "charmed" by the book's premise--finding the owner of a lost bracelet by tracing her through the charms on the bracelet--and the author acquitted that fairly well (too predictable on the whole) but I am SICK AND TIRED of poorly edited books. Such as when a character refers to his best friend first by his friend's name and then by his father's name in two adjacent sentences. (Two other names were applied to one other character.) And, really?--ending a sentence with a question mark AND a period?
