There is such a big market now for the paranormal and supernatural books. These books are not new. They are just more popular. I have to admit that I’ve found quite a few that I’ve enjoyed which makes me prone to read those that sound interesting. I recently read Marisa Chenery’s The Canuck Werewolf. This is the first is a series of books. It is the story of Rylee who goes on a camping trip with her brother and his friends when she meets a man that turns her world upside down. Atticus is camping because he is needing some time alone. He never expected to find the woman destined to be his mate. The fact that she is not a werewolf is going to be a problem with this family and pack. The storyline is great. I liked it. There was so much potential. I was disappointed in the character development. They seemed two dimensional. Then again this is just 61 pages so not much space is given to depth. Keep that in mind if you read it. It is a very, very short and will take you no time read.If you want a romance book that involves the supernatural, this might be a book for you. If you want a short read, this might be a book for you. If you’re looking for a book that will keep you riveted for days, it’s only 61 pages. Ms. Chenery has the seed for a great story but seems to be lacking in a lot of meat to the story and the ability to have me really wanting more.Note: I purchased this book with my own funds. Overall, I'd say this felt more like a rough draft then a full story... It has the potential to be really good though.... The characters need to be fleshed out, we'd need a lot more world building, and just more overall story and it could be the beginning af a really enjoyable series :)On a side note, there was one minor irritation - all the characters seem younger then they're described as.... The heroine doesn't seem like a 24 year old , but more like a 19 or 20 y.o, and her brother and his friends who are supposed to be 19 act more like high school freshmen then college aged ones....But like I said, for such a short story it isn't a bad way to spend an hour.
