I really enjoyed the development of the heroine and the culture in this book. In the first book I got used to the writing and who the character was going to be potentially, and in this book I was given a lot more story and development that made the heroine make a lot more sense. I liked that not everything is neat and tidy in the world and characters, and in general just everything about this entire storyline. It's more like 3 3/4 stars. I liked the book, don't get me wrong, but the massive info dump in the middle was a bit much. I've read a few reviews which say the book comes across as preachy and christian. I can't say it was preachy to me, but then I know very little about the various religions this is supposed to draw on. What I did see was Plato's allegory of the cave - everything in this world is a copy of a perfect version in another world, the world we are originally from and where we will return to once we die. Sound familiar?! And then there is Tintern. I'll say no more than that. Despite all this, its a good book. A very competent second in a series. The dialogue is better, but could still use a little work. Lia is now the Hunter of Muirwood Abbey and spends her time roaming around the surrounding grounds searching for intruders. And then basically all hell breaks loose. Colvin, Pasqua, the Aldermaston, Sowe and Edmon are all back and we are introduced to some new characters like Marciana, Dieyre and the Dowager Queen. Mastons are still being murdered and up and down the country Abbeys are burning (reformation anyone?). And then into the mix comes Pry-Ree's lost Princess Ellowyn Demont, a former wretched from Sempringfall Abbey (aka Semprignham Abbey where the exiled Princess of Wales sheltered from the English).
Do You like book The Blight Of Muirwood (2013)?
Great character development, and an improvement in story pace over the 1st.

Love this, probably one of my favorite series I've read in some time :)

Took a little less than a day to read, as I couldn't put it down.
