Cade Cain has spent the last two years as a POW in Korea when the war ends and he returns to his home town in Bay Parrish Louisiana that he hasn't been back to in 12 years. His wife divorced him while he was a POW and is affiliated with unsavory fellows, one of which had the misfortune of pretending to marry Mimi in Caracas and now she has stowed away on a ship and made her way to Bay Parrish to be rescued on the beach by Cade. Together they put a monkey wrench into nefarious plans with the help of the Coast Guard. That's the plot. Superbly crafted noir. Five star if it had been faster paced.
