This book is not a very long but it is a funny short book about being cool in school. The characters in the book is Bernie, his friends Freeman and Crench,the popular boy with the gold watch Sherman and Bernie's crush April-May. The story is about Bernie wants Sherman's gold watch that costed $500 because it does so many cool things. Also Bernie wants to get his watch but he didn't know how to get it from him. What is really funny about this book is that Bernie wants a to do a pie eating contest with Sherman group Nyce School and the Rotten school. They had to pick 1 person from each side so if he wins he gets the gold watch he been wanting. The big problem is that the guy Bernie had picked was allergic to blueberry pies. I really like this book because there was a part where Bernie said that his crush was his "girlfriend" but she didn't know yet. I would like to read more series of this short books. Bernie rules the school because he convinced the cafeteria lady that Milky Way bar is a vegetable. Also that he always has a plan for everything. There was this girl name Jennifer who liked Bernie but Bernie didn't like her. At the end of the story was funny because when they had the pie eating contest they all barfed. So they where having a blueberry barf-off.

This book is about a dorm school at elementary school. There's a trouble maker named Bernie B. He's in 4th grade with his friends which is his crew. They're all trouble makers and Bernie is pretty convincing or persuasive. He can convince the principal about bad problems and making them sound like it's good for the school. He's having a tough school year with his rival Sherman Oaks. Sherman has a cool watch and even attracted the girl Bernie likes. Sherman has a five hundred dollar watch and has 42 function. Bernie has a hard time dealing with this problem. I can connect this book to me because I use to bet with my friends for each others items. I would also be jealous sometimes if my friend got something new and I didn't have it. Also it really does remind me of my elementary school life because I remember that time was the only time I still played with water balloons. I rate this book 4.5 stars because it's funny and it's wrote by one of my most favorite authors R.L Stine. This book is like a series and I like books that continue sometimes.
