This book was a little slow to get into, but once you start you just need to find out what happens. Father Gian Marie, of the Vatican, hears a confession that a woman, Clara Tannenberg, is to be killed. How he travels to find Clara and protect her without her knowing why. She is an archaeologist looking, on behalf of her Uncle Alfred, the tablets that Abraham had recorded about Creation. Four friends, Mercedes, Bruno, Carlo and Hans, who as children were confined to a POW camp in Germany during WWII. The four friends are after Alfred Tannenberg, who worked in the POW camp and they want him dead. The four friends saw their mothers killed and they were beaten in the camp. The story travels back in time to the German camps and the story of the four friends. Also the excavation of the tablets in Iraq on the eve of the bombing of Iraq by the USA. Throw in a few crooked Washington DC folk and you have an interesting story. Very good read and recommend.
Do You like book The Bible Of Clay (2009)?
Entertaining enough to read all 700 pp, but didn't care for the ending. Too flat.

Slow moving at the beginning, but then picks up. Good book, not great.
