3.75 stars! How am I not sick of the one night stand pregnancy storyline, you ask? It might be because although there are plenty of duds, sometimes you come across ones that are as fun and endearing as this one. Jake is a genuinely good guy and spends a lot of time making up for the mistakes he made. Claire is a smart woman, slightly impulsive but at the same time reserved, it took her a while to trust and accept Jake's apologies but I completely understand why. Both had pasts that broke my heart and it was amazing how much I felt for these characters in such a short amount of pages. I wish it was longer but at least it had a sweet epilogue. It was a quick and enjoyable story. I am a big fan of the romance novel/unexpected pregnancy storyline so it was no surprise the title caught my eye. It was very good. I really liked the characters which is always important if the book is going to hold my attention. The plot was familiar of course, but told in a way that kept me turning the pages. And I liked the fact there was much more to Jake than you saw on the surface. Don't want to give anything away but there are some interesting twists to the story. When Clair finds out she's pregnant and goes to tell Jake, he's with another woman. The fact he left her alone in the hotel room after taking her virginity then didn't bother to call, already has her out of sorts. To make matters worse, the woman he's with humiliated her when they were in school. She ends up stabbing the pregnancy test stick into his hamburger then running away. I was hooked. It just got better after that. Would definitely give it a try. I plan to read more of the author's work in the future.
