About book The Beginning Of Infinity: Explanations That Transform The World (2011)
Very interesting read. Difficult at times to understand the explanation of the mathematics and logic behind quantum theory. For me, this book opened up some new perspectives and ways of thinking about problems. Some great takeaways:Science is the search for good explanations (explanation that are very difficult to vary) People are universal explainers and the reach of our explanations can be infinite. All evil is the result of bad explanations. It is really hard to write a review for this book.There were chapters where I felt like rating the book 5 stars even before finishing it. "A Dream of Socrates" is an amazing introduction to epistemology. Absolute pleasure, that chapter was. The discussions on Qualia, Quantum Physics and Fungibility were really thought provoking and I'm quite convinced that we truly are (and always will be) at the beginning of infinity.Then there were chapters that were really painful to get through. The chapter on Multiverse (barring the Fungibility concept) was particularly challenging. I've read it twice and I still don't get it 100%.All in all, it is still a good read. Pick it up, dive into the chapters that interest you, skim through the rest of them and come back to them when you have a better understanding of those topics from other sources. That is what I plan to do!
