Really great motivator for getting a business started! This girl took nothing and made it into something and encourages you to do the same. Great detail on how to start a business, how to create a brand, and how to do it all with a family and keep your sanity at the same time. I really liked how she incorporated video into the e-book, and it drove home the sense of reality (i.e.. kids and cell phones going off in the background) and that yes, this can be done. If you're looking for a little motivation, this book is it, it will have you dreaming big. (On a personal note, I credit this book with me starting my "Why's". You'll hear about crafting your "Why" a lot with personal development books, and after a few years of trying, I was never able to get anything on paper until this book. That should be reason enough to read this!) I loved The Barefoot Executive. I absolutely LOVE Carrie's style. I am So glad I saw her tweet on how her book was $2.99 on the Nook store, and for some reason, I just clicked through and bought it. The only reason I am giving it a 3 stars is because there are just one too many self-promotions in the book to affiliate programs and such that I found to be distracting from the core of the message.Something about her just intrigues me. She has been extremely responsive on Twitter to all my tweets, and I just met her.As for the book, I read it on my Kindle and it was hard to put it down as another reviewer said. She was right there, it felt like, coaching me, talking to me, and being very bossy with tough love, I loved it. It gave me a taste of how I must sound to my own clients.... Carrie also has the proof behind her teaching - she has made her success and she is passionate - INCREDIBLY passionate - about sharing this with the rest of us. I am delighted to have read this book, I WILL implement the useful parts, I will pass it on to others, I will follow everything else that the Barefoot Executive puts out and I will be forever grateful that Carrie created this book because her work will change and inspire the work of so many others.If you are a brand new business owner and want to have an online presence or a total online business, she will give you lots of tips, and she really does a good job of simplifying the concepts WITHOUT dumbing them down. I loved that distinction. She is also funny, entertaining and just so likable. Thank you Carrie.
