This is a series of stories that are not really connected. From thwarting Martian invasions to Abraham Lincoln commissioning a special agent, these stories are weird, and darkly humourous.I picked this book up on the recommendation of one of the guys at The Beguiling.I finished it because the humour was somewhat intriguing, but really I just don't like leaving a book unfinished.I will not recommend this book. This is one of those rare little short story books that comes around every now and then in comics. Screw-On head is just one of many stories in here, presented in almost fairy tale fashion. The Amazing Screw-On Head is as it says, amazing! He is one of the most original characters, and exists in a world that is vibrant and imaginative. My other favorite is the Prisoner of Mars, it's a touching tale with interesting results. The final story, well if you can call it that, The Chapel of Curious Objects ties the all of these stories in well. If you like Mignola, or just strange and fairy tale-esque comics, this is a no brainer.

Love the art style, but the content is not for everyone. I'm one of those people. Not that much fun.

Delightfully funny collection, very light in tone, but with mignola's wonderfully dark art.

Stories in the Mignola style and visuals. As a light romp through his mind...
