Ok, I enjoy reading books like this. Even though it's heavy on the marketing and some of the protocols are absolutely unproven (cold showers increase testosterone? Show me the proof) there are gems to be found within the pages. One thing this book excels at is pointing you in the right direction if something in one of the covered topics catches your interest. Sometimes he points to things that are not as mainstream as they should be.Prime example, when Ferris discusses strength training, he brings Pavel Tsatsouline to our attention. If you look into Pavel's works and read Pavel's material, you will dramatically increase your strength. Another example, the swimming chapter. Ferris shares his thoughts and then recommends a great DVD for you to really improve your skills. So, I see this book as a hub for some great ideas, but not necessarily full of great ideas in and of itself. The testosterone protocol comes to mind. It should be an easy enough thing for users to use Tim's vitamin d/cod liver/brazil nuts etc protocol and get bloodwork done. I have yet to see that. So, all in all this book is an enjoyable and entertaining read, but you probably won't get too much of actual substance from it. But it might point you in the right direction. Too hard to rate!!!As a reading experience it is really boring... it doesn't take me to new places and it doesn't tell me interesting stories (it does teaches me interesting things though... or at least it tries... I think I am not a good student XD)But this book is not supposed to be a reading experience but a guide to help me improve some aspects of my life, even the author tells me I should not read the entire book but go to the chapters that are interesting to me. So for now it will have three stars, it should have two as a reading experience but I give it three because I hope the guidance it gives is good :PMaybe I'll come later after trying some of it's recommendations and update the review... or maybe I'll forget to edit it :P
