An exciting paranormal romance, well written and can stand independent of the series. After years of inaccurate assumptions about each other, Kierland and Morgan are forced together to search for Kierland's brother in the Vampire wastelands. Unable to deny their attraction for each other, or reconcile their past hurts, it appears unlikely that they will be able to stop fighting long enough to work together. Only by admitting their vulnerabilities to each other can they begin to connect and accept the deep feelings they have always had. Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from the publisher through the NetGalley book review program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255 [...] : "Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising." I am enjoying this series and I enjoyed this story too. I couldn't give it 4 stars b/c the hero Kierland was just too mean to the heroine throughout most of the book. It had fantastic sex scenes; these two were combustible together. It had a nice HEA ending. But, frankly, I found Ashe Granger a much more compelling character than Kierland. The vampire stole the show. I am not a big fan of the I-hate-you--------oh-now-that-I-know-I-misunderstood-you-I-finally-love-you-too story line. Still, folks who are following this series will want to read this book so as not to have any details left out. In particular, it has a nice set up for the next book, which is about Kellan. It was satisfying that Morgan and Kierland settled their differences and could be happy together at last.
