About book Ten Little Zombies: A Love Story (2010)
Super cute fun little book. Yes, $10 is a bit much for something so little. But, well, you decide: be a cheap ass and read it in the store for free in a few minutes or actually support the author/artist and have the chance for more awesomeness in the future. Personally, I bought it.*Sorry, this rant brought to you by reading someone else's review before writing my own. "Sticking it to the man" also hurts the authors that are bringing us these stories so while I might not agree with the price structure on some books or want to pay for a HC when I can get a digital or PB for less, I will still support authors when I can. I don't understand why other people can't grasp that concept.* Authors of children's books today are stuck in a rut. Far too many of them rely on blasé story lines, strained rhyme schemes, and overused animal stereotypes. Enter "Ten Little Zombies". Not only can you help your child learn basic counting skills, but you can also teach them the importance of relationship building and lay the foundation for building rudimentary survival skills in a post-cataclysmic zombie apocalypse. This book is a breath of fresh air in a genre that is definitely stale. A must have for any conscientious adult that has any type of contact with impressionable children.
