When Arianna Wells was a small child she saw shadows turn into two men who took her Mom away from their home, leaving Arianna an orphan. Being such a small child no one believed her story of the shadow men. Now Arianna is grown and is out one evening picking up her young cousin, when the foggy shadows turn into men trying to kidnap her cousin, she screams her head off and takes pictures trying to get a shot of their licence plate. What she does catch on film is a Vampire warrior taking down the two would be thugs. When Jackson Foss realises that Arianna has caught him on tape dusting the two Darkbloods he immediately takes her cell phone, escorts her and her cousin home and wipes their memory of the incident from their minds. Jackson is a Guardian for the Vampire Coalition, he has several "Sweetbloods" he must keep tabs on so the Darkbloods can't take them and drain them. Arianna's mother was a Sweetblood and so is her cousin Krystal. When the memory wipe doesn't work on Arianna and she blogs about it, Jackson returns to her home just in time to save her and her cousin again. Someone wants Krystal very bad, and will stop at nothing to get her. Jackson takes both women into protective custody, and with the zing he gets each time he touches Arianna, passion grows. Will Jackson be able to keep Krystal safe, will he get to keep Arianna? Things keep going down hill, and when Arianna and then Krystal disappear...God help anyone who gets in his way....Jackson doesn't believe in failure! I only read the first three chapters of this book, but I was not disappointed. I just cannot relate to the female main character. I had some trouble pinpointing the character’s age in relation to the events and visualizing some of the settings. All these issues affected me as a reader, but did not interfere with the story development. The author presents a new spin to vampires, paranormal and romance without going overboard. It is a great read for all those that enjoy spicy books.
