I had so much fun reading this book. If over the top total cave man floats your boat, here 'ya go. For the first 10% or so of the book, I kept thinking 'Oh no he didn't just say that'. About 20% in though I just started going with it. Talon is indeed a crazy man, but he is my kind of crazy. He's not into dominance just for the sake of dominance, he dominates to make sure his one-true-love is safe and happy. A lot of the book he is making himself crazy. Talon doesn't know if he is coming or going a lot of the time. Some times I just wanted to give him a hug, tell him to calm down and pat him on the head. I ended up just loving him to bits.Skylar seems a bit of a doormat at the beginning of the book, but she ends up being one strong lady who understands her man.As for Talon's family and friends. They are some of the most interesting and well crafted people I've read anytime in the recent past.If you are expecting a mostly sex book, this probably won't be your cuppa' tea. However, if you like some story and laughs with your sex, you should definitely try this book.I've just started reading Jordan's books lately and so far I have really loved reading them. So much fun finding a great author. I really enjoyed the story of Talon & Skye. It's told mostly from Talon's POV, which is good because if we saw most of the crap he pulls from outside his head, this story would not have worked as well. There is a very thin line between the Alpha male we all love and the crazy controlling obsessed man who turns out to be the villain. I think the crux of that line is motive. If the motive of the controlling nature is truly the happiness & safety of the one he loves, his actions fall on the Alpha side. Some of Talon's actions would certainly have appeared to fall on the other side of things if we hadn't been inside his head. A couple of things bothered me, but they involve particular things these characters apparently enjoyed in the bedroom, which I just don't get. But, you know, to each their own & all that. So. As I said, enjoyable story, but some things to look out for - editing is atrocious. Certain paragraphs are kind of like a book version of an abstract painting. Sentence structure is just... sometimes not there. Once you get the rhythm of the writing, it's easier to follow, but if you're a natural editor like me, it may still bother you. If the book synapses interests you, I would encourage you to still give the story a chance, tho! : )
