About book Sweet Valley Confidential: Ten Years Later (2011)
when my bf got me this as a birthday present (he knows my undying devotion to the Sweet Valley series), i was super psyched to start reading it. i honestly didn't know how but i actually managed to finish this book. SV Confidential was just so... bad. i'm not kidding. jessica like, can't like, stop, saying 'like' in all of her parts. i want to like, stab her in the head, like i can't take it. elizabeth can't stop whining half the time (what happened to good old Liz, level-headed Liz -inserts sad face-), everyone hates winston now and steven is now... gay. No. My IQ might have suffered a bit from reading this, but I had to because I loved the Sweet Valley Twins books as a kid, and then later Sweet Valley High. This is a follow-up ten years after high-school of what's happened with all of the Sweet Valley people. I think it was a great idea to do that for the fans of the books, but I was disappointed by the story. Why didn't Francine Pascal write a more uplifting story that could have been just as interesting and fun as all the other stuff she used to write? It was very much like a soap opera, overly dark and dramatic, and I was surprised by the level of profanity and sex, as well as some political/social jabs that she weaved in rather awkwardly. It ended a little too neatly and quickly too after all that drama. I guess it was worth reading once just for old times' sake, but that's about it!

Trees died for this book. Eco-terrorists should be rioting in the streets.
