I am new to the Tea Shop series and unfortunately this doesn't seem to be the book to introduce anyone to the series. while I certainly enjoyed this book there are some things that I couldn't quite understand. I am not sure how a tea shop owner has become the de facto private investigator of the town and why the police seem to be ok with sharing all aspects of their investigation with her. The characters are certainly well written, I loved the progression and (to be honest) I cannot wait to try the recipes from the back of the book. I am not ready to give up on this series - and I will be looking for other (older) books in the series to see if following them to their end is something that I would be interested in. I'm a big fan of Laura Childs, I've read almost all of her books, but this one felt a little disjointed to me. I felt like she talked in circles a lot, and had so many wild herrings and dead ends that is was frustrating. The ending was such a surprise - the perpetrator wasn't even someone who was on the suspect list... I feel sorry for the poor ghost hunters, who never got to see a spook. I still liked the book, but it wasn't one of my favorites.
This book was okay - perhaps, (dare I say it?) not quite my cup of tea.
