About book Sweater Quest: My Year Of Knitting Dangerously (2010)

I wavered between giving this book two stars or three stars. In the end, I decided to go with only two because large parts of the book are simply boring. I enjoyed Martini's sense of humor, but she couldn't make those interviews with other knitters exciting enough to keep my interest. Then, at the end of the book, she throws in her political views which had absolutely no place in this narrative. OK, I am knitter. SO I get the whole, set goals for yourself...spend a year knitting Mary Tudor. I wonder how many non knitters read this book? The author goes into minute details describing the where and how of knitting....But I am a knitter! so that to me is so boring. I get that maybe it is background info for the non-knitting world..But I serially how many non-knitters are going to read a book about spending a year working on a sweater??? The info on Alice Starmore--fascinating...I also really liked the interview with Yarn Harlot, and the camp with Clara Parkes. Can't believe that the sweater ended up not fitting (there is a picture of the author wearing it on the back page?) And the on going question if it is really an alice star more, if she changed one color....bla ba bla....
