Superhero School is about a super boy whose mother sends him to Superhero school. There he thinks he will learn about saving the day, but is instead left with learning about fractions, multiplication, and division. He is starting to hate going there until one day the ice zombies kidnap all the teachers and the kids are forced to save them.Illustrator Andy Rash does an excellent job making this book have bright vibrant colors to give the book the feel of a comic book. The words are integrated into the pictures and I feel that this is a great decision because the pictures add a lot to the story. This book is a quick read that makes the reader do the math as they read. It is perfect for children under 10 and keeps the reader engaged til the end. Leonard can hit a baseball into orbit, weld the Bay City Bridge back together using heat vision, and he can fly. So it is no surprise that he is sent to Superhero School. However, he hates the fact that at school all they seem to do is math. When do they learn how to bend steel, leap over tall buildings in a single bound, and when will they learn how to save the world from evil monsters? A great story to show how math comes in handy--even in a superhero's life. Super fun!
