About book Sunday Morning Quilts: 16 Modern Scrap Projects Sort, Store, And Use Every Last Bit Of Your Treasured Fabrics (2012)

What I liked most about this book was the concept of sewing similarly hued scraps together to make what the authors call "fabric slabs". Although I probably will not exactly recreate any of the quilts in this book, some of their color placements were inspirational. I even liked some of their pieced backings as ideas for very simple quilts. They cover some basic skills such as cutting and piecing and throw in some extras like a recipe for homemade starch. Both authors have small spaces as their studios; one has to use her dining room and move things back and forth daily. So her ideas for sorting and storing fabrics was more helpful to me than someone who shares their "dream studio" storage options. This book is worth it just for the storage ideas! I have been trying to figure out the best way to store fabric and scraps so they are organized and easy to find what you are looking for. I also liked the personal tone of this book (how brilliant to show photos of the quilt with people wrapped up/napping with them). This title also focuses on using up scraps that you have not buying new fabric.Liked:CheckerboardFortune TellerThe Original Ticker TapeCandy Coated
