About book Strangeville (The Complete Trilogy) (2013)

It's strange alright! Man fumbles trying to commit suicide, then stumbles off into a strange little town that is living in the 1950s style, on purpose, because the mayor of the town thinks all these people should be isolated from the craziness of today's world. The residents of this 50's town never leave the city limits, aren't allowed to. The main character (I've already forgotten his name) doesn't plan to stick around but is so curious about it all he stays and falls in love. Weird.I didn't find it very humorous, pretty stupid in parts. I don't recommend it for either lovers of humorous or serious literature. I only read book 1, not the complete trilogy. Maybe it got better, but I wasn't interested. It's a rather easy read and you wonder what is coming next. At first I thought I was reading horror but it turns out not to be such. To say the least the town is a bit weird and there's a lot of oddball things like the old farmer sticking a whole chicken in a blender. After pureeing it he drank it all down. I can't I ever read that in another book anywhere and I read a lot. I couldn't stop laughing either. There's pretty funny stuff in this book and it has an interesting premise. If you're looking for something a bit out of the ordinary this would be your book.
