Well for me i gave this book 4 star for an reason because best book every i'm telling you this because I know.Well I think it's the best book because their so much you can learn from this book and because some of the event happening in this book really can and does happen. An example of when i'd learned something was on page7 when Jujube went to the school dance with an guy named Brent he was cool maybe.Well because on page 10 that day Jujube went back to school every one was looking at her talking about her.The reason why because people are say she a slut because of that guy Brent. It all stared with him, and the thing is she barely knew him at all.So an lesson to all be careful of what you do and before you go out with an person you just mate, get to know them first cause you never know who their really are in the inside or outside. An example of real life event is BULLING BULLING BULLING!Well in the book Jujube got bull like by every one but her best friend.Every time she thought the name call and the lie will stop it does it just get worse then what it is already.Bulling happen these day and kids really get hurt by it, it need's to stop. You would like this if your an person that goes thought problems just like Jujube. You might be asking you self why right!Well because Jujube went thought problems just like you right buuuuuuuuuut Jujube didn't give up hope she knew it was going to get better and it did.Look what i'm trying to say is she might had thought her whole life was over in the beginning but well moving on she stared to believe in her self then listening what other people are saying and she won by not giving up. One challenging aspect of this book for me was trying to find out why would any one stare an rumor that not true.Well i'm saying that because the rumor about Jujube being an slut really stared with Brent friend how he lied and it got around the school allover fast. But I still don't understand why would Brent friend stare an rumor like that about Jujube, what did she did so wrong to him.
I hate giving a book less than 5 stars, but in all honesty, this was a book I just could not connect with. Ever have that happen? However, I went ahead and read the next book in the series (Lucky me!!!!) and LOVED it so much that I went back and finished this one, and I am really glad I did. I think I just had trouble relating to Mandy and Lexi...mostly Lexi I think. It has such a cool premise that I just could not turn down the opportunity to read this. Shawn does an amazing job developing the characters and writing the story. I did not feel it was too young, The secondary story, Desiree's story, is really intriguing and I am always wondering about what is going to happen next in her story. Okay, so Mandy has had a tough life. Her mom is mentally absent, her older sister is dead, and her dad, who has left a LONG time ago, said something to Mandy that has made her the way she is. Amazing how much words can affect us, right? I believe the author is right on with that premise in this book, and I think it is fascinating the way she portrays how powerful words can be in our lives. jAlright, back to the story. So, Mandy makes a deep down, from the soul type of wish and it is up to Desiree to fulfill it. Enter Lexi, Mandy's long lost Imaginary (yep, you read that right, IMAGINARY) friend, and all hell breaks loose. Or so it seems...does it really though? Find out by reading this book! It's worth it!
Do You like book Sticks And Stones (2002)?
i read sticks and stones as an IR book. this book is about a girl how her dreams are coming true when she gets lead by a drea mboy. but he brings her his car and he goes to far. so she just leaves but when she gets to school the next day things arent well. people are looking at her talking, then she finds out people think she did it and now are calling her a slut, the guy wont do anything either. can she survive. i have a text-to-world connection. this happens everywhere, probably in our own schoolm too. everybody gets teased but sometimes it goes to far. like they will just keep teasing until theres nothing left. but one thing is you should realize inside that your not that. and your only that word if you believe you are. i gave this book *****stars. i gave this book 5 stars because it juicy. i didnt know if it would get worse. it also taught a lesson. dont believe what other people say about you. dont let it get to you or it will talk over you. this has great details because it uses real life.

Sticks and Stones was a really amazing book. Many tales about how high school life sucks, this really shows it. JuJube was just a normal girl, until she went to the dance with Brent Floyd. She thought he cared about her, when all he really wanted was to push her into doing something she didn't want to do. After this happens, everyone thinks that she did actually do the thing with Brent, then everyone starts calling her a name that hurts her so much. With the help of her mother, she is able to stand up against this word, and show the school who she really is. Not a slut. She's JuJube Gleb. Powerful, strong, inspirational girl. These are my opinions though! (: <3

This book is so awesome. This girl, Jujube goes through so many struggles and through it all her best friends Carlos and Sophie stood next to her. In the beginning of the book I had a feeling that Carlos liked Jujube. Jujube thinks of thinking about it a different way and her and Carlos make a project based on the fact that people would write in the bathrooms bad stuff about her and other girls. I think that Jujube changed from being someone who doesn't look at the good part of the situation to being the one who stands up and embraces it along with the other girls who's names was on the bathroom wall. She is so brave.
