About book Stephen King, A Biografia: Coração Assombrado (2013)
Very interesting as I am one of his "Constant Readers". However, the book was written before "Under the Dome" and the Kennedy book which I was very interested in getting his thoughts on. One good thing is that I won't have to go read other biographies about the man because this book picked alot of it's info from other bios. I think he is an incredibly strong man, withdrawing from his addictions cold turkey must have been horrific. I have little slips of paper throughout the book so I can look into some of his favorite influences. Well worth reading! I'm going to have to agree with some of the other reviewers and say that Haunted Heart is overloaded with trivia regarding how much money Stephen King made on a manuscript. It's just not that interesting, I'm sorry. Maybe some people care about that kind of stuff. I guess I'm not one of those people.However, I would still recommend it to anyone who's interested (admittedly, I'd recommend just about any book to anyone who's interested, but still).One thing that I learned that I'm a little depressed about was that Stephen King never actually met Mark David Chapman. When I read that in another biography about King, it gave me chills. And now it's not true, which is kind of a bummer (although I would totally be willing to believe it anyway).Unfortunately, there wasn't much new under the sun. There are a few events in here that aren't covered in On Writing (such as King discovering that his father wrote horror stories too and the interesting "persistence" line from his mother), but probably not enough to warrant reading it unless you are very interested in Stephen King. I would like more information about his writing process but, in all honesty, that's because that's what interests me.I had fun reading it and I found it interesting, albeit a little boring at times.
