This book was great for the most part. I could relate to the story a bit. I myself was an orphanage before I got adopted. Maybe my story is not exactly like the story that this book held but I could at least connect. I loved just how the author wrote it. It was in a beautifully, uniquely way that I have not read in any other book except Sparrow Road. As much as I enjoy the story, I also did not like somethings about it. For one thing the story kinda dragged. I wanted to put the book down a few times since it was dragging on and on but I didn't because I was determine to know the whole story and because I needed to finish a second book for today. This book rocked. I loved it especially since in some ways I could relate.Theme: History is nothing but a series of stories, whether it be world history or family history.Theme: It takes a thousand voices to tell a single story Sparrow Road is one of those amazing books that's hard to describe.....it's a book about family and about growing up and is such a pleasant quiet read that it never seemed like something I would enjoy....but I did. The story centers around an artist retreat where Raine and her mother go for the summer. Raine isn't sure why, but is positive she will be miserable in this quiet sleepy town....instead she bonds with the various artists and begins to discover her own talents. She also meets her biological father for the first time and begins to come to terms with who he is and how she feels about him. This is a really good example of a "sleeper".....but if you are someone who wants a good story, then this is for you.
