About book Sophie #1: Sophie The Awesome (2010)

This book is a great book!In the story Sophie wanted to have a name so Sophie and her friend Kate tried to think of a name that was good for Sophie. They tried every name and then Sophie came up with a name which was Sophie The Awesome! Sophie thought if she wanted to be called Sophie The Awesome she needed to be awesome at everything. When they where going to gym they Sophie jumped off the third step then her enemy Toby Myers jumped off the fourth step and then Sophie did that too and then Toby jumped of the fifth step and Sophie went to the sixth step and jumped but landed on bottom so Toby said that it didn't count and then Sophie got hurt and Kate Brought her to the nurse and Sophie told the nurse what had happened but not exactly so Sophie asked if she could rest and she did after the nurse she went straight to lunch and Kate told her she could go in front so Mindy said that it was cutting and Lily who always copies Mindy was on Mindy's side then Kate said she was saving it then Sophie got on line. When they got their lunches Sophie asked if she could borrow Kate's tray then the next three people on line. Sophie stopped when it was Mindy's turn. Then Sophie tried to carry the trays back when they almost fell but they didn't. Then at the table Toby stuffed 26 french fries in his mouth so Sophie tried to do that too but she only did 25 because Toby said the 26th French frie was to small but before Sophie got a longer one the principal came over and told her one French frie at a time so Sophie couldn't beat the record. When it was time for recess Sophie tried to beat the record which was 136 jumps by Mindy but Sophie could only do 125 because Mindy triped her. When it was time to go in Ms.Moffly wanted to have a talk with Sophie about the stairs and that the whole class lost there hall privilege and they will earn it back next week. When it was time to go home on the bus Sophie wanted to talk to Kate about how she could be awesome again but then Ella Sophie's neighbor, came and wondered what they where talking about then Kate told Ella. When Kate and Sophie started walking to Kate's house Ella ran after them but she couldn't make it and dropped her slinkys in the road the Ella ran to get them from the street and a car was coming but luckily Sophie saved Ella's life from the car. You will find out more when you read the second book Sophie The Hero. I really like Sophie The Awesome because the author really expresses the characters, and gives me a picture in my mind. In the book, Sophie Miller is reading, and in all of these books, she finds everyone has an excellent name.Nate the Great. Harriet the Spy. Ramona the Brave. Winnie the Pooh, Sophie thinks its about time she has a name like that!I really like Sophie's character because she can change her emotions so quick. She reminds me of my sister, because when she wants something she does NOT give up on it.I was surprised when Sophie chose the name Sophie the Awesome, because Sophie HERSELF doesn't think she is awesome by saying " My hair is boring, my name is boring, MY LIFE IS BORING!!!!!"I think the author could've done a better job of putting in more of the characters quotes and less of her own. It's story does miss out on details, and it could've been a lot longer than ninety-nine pages.Overall, this was a pretty good book and I would recommend it to kids of younger ages. :)

I thought that it would be a good book to read to little kids between the ages of 3 and 8.
