About book Son Of Eden (2010)

This was a fast-paced book, likely more meant for young adults, but still interesting. It reminded me in some parts of Twilight, with the male love interest being immortal, caring about virtue, strong, their love not being normal, and having to deal with the effects of their love. Overall, I thought it was a good book and I wouldn't mind reading the rest in the series. If it hadn't had the unique elements to it, I probably would have lost interest, but I thoroughly appreciated the new ideas it presented to me; such as the Guardians, Eden, and some of the things related. I could see this doing well as a tv miniseries. I'm going to post a few passages I thought were particularly telling:our hero describes the MC (to her face)-"Your beauty far exceeds that of anyone, or anything I have seen in all my existence...for instance, at first glance most people would say your hair is brown, but it's not. It has copper highlights that run throughout it, and when you step out in the sun the red in your hair shines as though it's on fire. Or your eyes. They might seem like a basic hazel but when looked at closely, they have golden specks that shimmer and dance when you are excited. Your thick black lashes generously outline their large almond shape, making them stand out even more... your lips are full and soft and when you get close enough you can see that the tops come to a perfectly sharp point, something I've never seen in all my years. Your skin is like silk that's lightly touched by the sun. Your nose gracefully glides down with a slight upturn that keeps your face looking youthful..."I think he's trying to say she's pretty. Apparently the prettiest girl in the world.things get preachy-"I would never compromise her virtue like that. That's part of the problem with the world today. Too many people are so willing to give up something so sacred at the drop of a hat. Emily is different. She's not that kind of girl."Which kind of girl would that be, exactly?Anyway, I love any story involving defense of a structure, but from the above passages this one didn't quite work for me. Compulsively readable, though!
