The premise was great. I really looked forward to the story, but it was too rushed. Within two to three days the heroes met and then were engaged. They were supposed to be reincarnated lovers who have been together centuries. Instead of that nonsense, the author could have made this their first meeting and developed a heck of a good story. Kres with the reader along could have gradually learned about Thresls . And the king could have stayed as a beast longer and they could have become closer and then finally intimate. I'm glad there was more story than sex, but the story was run so fast that there was nothing to discover or enjoy. I was looking so forward to reading it. Amber Kell has good ideas, straight fantasy, but her main characters are always rushed to a happy ending while she tries to tie up any conflict just as quickly. Just the cheesy space romance I was in the mood for. The characters are fun, and I'm glad Amber Kell doesn't subscribe to the dominant, controlling mate, and that both characters are strong in their own right. I really liked Kreslan he could give lessons in backbone to many of the characters in other shifter type novels. This might not be great literature, but it's an enjoyable, fun read, and sometimes that's just what I want.
Do You like book Soldier Mine (2013)?
The only thing I like about this book is the Thresl idea, the rest is just too darn confusing.
