About book So Long, Insecurity: You've Been A Bad Friend To Us (2010)
I read this book for my women's group at church. Secure enough to admit that I dealt with insecurity, I was very interested in the book. I think Beth is very creative and really does provide a thoughtful analysis and looks at the insecurity from a variety of angles. This was my first book from Beth Moore that I read...was not real keen on to the "you go, sister!" references...but once you get past that there are some great nuggets in here. While it's Bible-based, I think people who are not Christian could get use out of it. Her prayer in the middle of the book was super powerful. I do think she focuses too much on how men drive insecurities, and only a chapter to how we women make each other insecure...I think that deserved MUCH more than the one chapter she used to focus on it. I had read this book when it first came out in 2010, but different seasons in our life alter our perspective and I found this read through more helpful. Beth Moore reminds readers we have choice in our insecurities. Because of the power of Christ within us, we can choose to refuse our insecurities and live in confidence in our God-given status. With a writing style that is engaging and easy to follow, she inspired me to quit letting my feelings dictate my truth.
