About book Slay (2000)

I felt book 4 in Nina Levine's Storm MC series to be much darker and violent than the previous books in the series. This however doesn't detract from Nina's writing.I've been looking forward to Blade's story and now that it's here, I wasn't disappointed. The darkness and violence held in this book was very fitting and true to character. Donovan (Blade) Brookes has had a very tough life, with a violent and mostly absent father, which led him to lead his own life of violence. Marcus - Blade's father - has another family of his own, a wife and 2 grown children. Building a relationship with his half sister, Blade is slowly finding the true meaning of family.Having loved and lost he is not looking to find romance, but when he intercedes in an altercation in Layla's bar, he finds someone who accepts him, and understands him. Layla has had her own brushes with violence in her past, creating a believable understanding and acceptance. Beautifully written with Nina's traditionally drity talking bikers :)Now bring on Griff's story. **** I received an arc in exchange for an honest review ******I was looking forward to this book in the series as I really wanted to get to know Blade, I really wasn't disappointed with this book it was fantastic. On the outside Blade is one tough alpha biker, but on the inside he is one hell of a loveable male, my ideal man. Now I don't know if he can live up to Nash as he is so loveable, but it is very close, maybe I can have both lol. Two sexy bikers yes please.I loved how this book was set out and that we find out why Blade is the way he is, he has had a tough childhood, but it has made him the person he is today. You seriously have to read this series, you will not regret it.
