About book Skip Beat! 16 (2010)

I was revisiting what I'd bothered to list here, since it's been awhile, looking for something that I hadn't added, and I saw that I had kinda thought (at the end of the Skip Beat 15 review) I would write up something for this one, too. I called it a romantic giddy-skip, I believe. I think I made up that word, but I like it anyway.Thing is, now it's been awhile since I read it. But I'll do my best.Sho FINALLY realizes he cares. Ren FINALLY shows up. He even gets a chance to mess up what would have been Sho's confession of feelings to Kyoko (and it is AWESOME). And then, in the same scene, the two men realize some things about each other: how the other man feels and who holds the comparative advantage. And really, it's no spoiler to say that it's Sho. How could it not be? He's still all about himself. Kyoko is absolutely unaware of what's going on, even as the two of them are attempting to outflank each other right in front of her. Sho doesn't really need anything from her (he's still an a-hole brat looking for adoration), so as long as he's in her mind and occupying space in her soul--more space than Ren--that is good enough for him. Ren's got much more on the line. He wants and needs more from her. He is potentially risking much more by getting close to her. They are in competition, Sho is winning (in his way)--and they both know it.Kyoko, meanwhile, may be totally oblivious to all this tension--but she continues to show the tiny, tiny signs of attachment to Ren that she has before. But she's still way too wounded to do any more than that. And still, this series is riotously hilarious. Go figure. Kyoko is saved by Sho from a person who has been stalking her. He realizes that he has feelings for her but Mr.Tsuruga (Ren) loves her in the same way. Now they are both trying to win her heart. This book reminded me of eclipse because both Edward and Jacob loved Bella dearly, the only difference is that Bella knew that they did where as Kyoko does not.I give this book 3 stars because it was entertaining but it's one of those things that you need to see or read from the beginning, to actually understand what is going on in the story, because I was absolutely lost.

Do You like book Skip Beat! 16 (2010)?

Why do so many manga use the "they met as children but she doesn't remember him!" plot?
